The ÅF Green Advisor Plan
The ÅF Green Advisor Plan is a strategic roadmap that sets a series of highly demanding objectives for the ÅF Group. At ÅF we aim to become Europe’s leading technical consulting company. One major step towards this has been to set ourselves some of the most demanding sustainability goals among European technical consulting companies. It takes technology and knowledge to foresee and tackle climate issues. We want to continue to improve the positive impact we have on creating a sustainable future. We want to make a difference.
By the year 2015 ÅF aims to:
- have halved its direct climate impact (baseline year 2009, calculated per individual)
- include a proposal in every offer or tender that ÅF submits, to enhance the sustainability aspect of the project
- be perceived as the technical consulting firm that, from a sustainability perspective, best solves the challenges facing clients.
ÅF’s baseline is the UN Global Compact. We focus on sustainability assessment early on in the business- and project processes and a successful stakeholder dialogue is an important part of sustainable projects. The scope of such communication must be extended to include aspects of sustainability and the interests of stakeholders whose involvement is more peripheral to the project in hand.
ÅF ensures transparency in the company by using a channel where every ÅF co-worker has the right to report irregularities and wrongdoings that could harm ÅF, ÅF’s owners and stakeholders; the channel is called ÅF Whistleblowing.

By following and systematically implementing the plan on the markets where we operate, we are strengthening ÅF’s business opportunities and, at the same time, thanks to the difference we make in our clients’ operations, we are contributing to a more sustainable development.
